Every year the Environmental Working Group (EWG) issues a report that lists the fruits and vegetables that are most and least contaminated by pesticides. The new 2022 Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides in Produce provides the most up-to-date information, based on tests conducted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Below are the dirties and cleanest fruits and vegetables. If you’re buying organic, it may be well worth it to spend your money on items on the “Dirty” list.
