Community Greens Consulting

czv-blue-jacketWith over 30 years of community service and experience, Charles Vasser started something: COMMUNITY GREENS

Community Greens believes social conscience is partner to social justice and the greater good is always in finding and maintaining a community benefit balance.

Our goal is to pioneer projects that will further connect communities through creative ideas, strategic partnerships, vibrant outreach and campaigns that connect funders with evergreen folks looking to build a better village.

I am also a master gardener and composter who worked as a consultant for the NYCHA Gardening & Greening program for 10 years and at the Bronx Zoo in Human resources and Community Outreach for 20 years. Let me help you get your personal or community garden or front/back yard in shape either as a once a season activity or as regular scheduled maintenance. I prune, plant and positively green everything I can.

This site is a product of my online computer, writing, editing and outreach abilities. Please feel free to visit my other sites. My primary site link is

I am also a great Adult League and High School Boys & Girls Basketball referee. Need a Basketball or Flag Football referee? Give me a call or send me an email!

Green Tips!

Bee proactive!

A few things you can do to help keep bees healthy:

  • plant different flowers that bloom throughout the season for the bees;

    • native plants and other perennials

    • bloom colors of yellow, white,  blue, and purple

  • watch for neonicotinoid-free note on plant tags- some tags will claim that insecticides were used for ‘your plant’s health’ (but NOT for the bees!)

  • leave the blossoms until they expire

  • plant plants with fragrant flowers with a long bloom season

  • consider early blooming plants for bees that have had little nourishment over the winter
