NYCHA Grows with its Gardeners Conference March 28, 2015

For green folks, there are a lot of conferences and events during the year especially during the growing season. The Partnership For Parks Conference at NYU on April 11, 2015 and the NYCHA Grows with its Gardeners Conference and the GreenThumb GrowTogether were March 28 and March 21 respectively. I wish I could make them all every year. I especially enjoy the hundreds of NYCHA gardeners that gather to learn, share and prepare for the season. Gardeners are gardeners but being a former project resident, like a lot of you, I have a special affinity for those hard working gardeners beautifying their piece of the hood against odds not in their favor. Its incredible to watch someone who has never grown anything take a 4′ X 8′ plot or two and grow edible vegetables, daises, black-eyed-susans and purple cone flowers.
