Brown Rice Smoothies

Brown Rice Smoothie

Rice is one of the most important foods in the world, supplying as much as half of the daily calories for half of the world’s population so why shouldn’t you have a Brown Rice Smoothie! Yes, you read that right, a Brown Rice Smoothie.  If you like cold smoothies, use frozen strawberries or any other fruit you like. Frozen berries, bananas and peaches are really nice. You can use vanilla yogurt and omit the milk and ice cream but resist over sweetening. No yogurt or milk (you really should use one or the other), use ice cubes and a little sugar. This is a simple, 5 ingredient smoothie. Don’t muck it up adding cinnamon or other exotic flavors. Makes 1 serving. Just double the amounts to make more.

1/2 cup brown rice

1/4 plain yogurt

1/4 cup milk

1/2 a dz. large strawberries

1/4 cup vanilla ice cream
