Steve Ritz’s Green Classroom

I got the opportunity to visit Steve Ritz and one of his Green Wall classroom installations during a Student Market at Walton HS in the Bronx. It was fantastic. Every school should have a room with green walls. Hmm, every school should also have aquariums, a butterfly garden, a bee hive, an animal care room, steward all the trees on the block . . .

The green wall at the Pure Yoga Center on 86th St. near Lexington Avenue in Manhattan is a commercial installation.

  1. Hi Charles Thanks for all your good efforts. Glad I signed up for your list.

This email was sad to note as Mr. Ritz has apparently been hired by Fresh Direct or someone connected with them or is just marketing for free to push the relocation on our South Bronx waterfront without an environmental impact statement, or any community input, or a living wage. Given that, lauding anything of this sort is very contrary to “community” green.

Here is a website of some real info on the issue:

Maybe you could send a few sentences and a link to this website to your list?

I am calling some local folks who are very keen on this issue.

    Thanks again for caring!

Harry; Thanks for the comment. Steve Ritz’s Green Walls in schools was/is a great project. I sent him a link to this post. I haven’t spoken to him recently, so I can’t comment on his current activities. I will give him a call. I’ll follow your suggestion and include the link to the Mott Haven Herald Debate regarding Fresh Direct in my Thursday post.
