BAAD! ASS Women Festival Closing Night – Rhodessa Jones’ LIFE ON THE SWERVE

Rhodessa Jones brought her incredible solo performance, Life on the Swerve: Observations from that Place Where the World Weeps, to the Bronx for the BAAD! Ass Women Festival closing night 3/31/12. The solo work was an incredible explosion of art as social activism as Rhodessa Jones danced the pain of women in prison, HIV positive women, and disenfranchised populations around the world. Ms. Jones, director of the Medea Project in San Francisco and sister of Bill T. Jones, noted artist and choreographer, performed excerpts from “Big Butt Girls, Hard-Headed Women” and “Deep in the Night” and unveiled material from her new show “The Resurrection of She: From Frisco to Soweto”.  A fantastic evening in the Bronx brought to you by Arthur Aviles and Charles Rice Gonzalez at BAAD!
