African-American History Along the Bronx River II April 8 & 15, 2012

Howard Cosell opined “There it is, ladies and gentlemen, the Bronx is Burning” in 1977 during game 2 of the Yankees world championship run but there were also many other things going on in the borough. Join Morgan Powell of the Bronx African American History Project on a walking tour of West Farms, Crotona Park East and Bronx River. Explore local history that connects Hip Hop, Earth Day, the rebirth of the Bronx and contemporizes the Yankees 21st World Series win in George Steinbrenner’s first year.
