Bissel Gardens Celebrates Founder Maria Scalera with Children’s Garden Opening October 22, 2011

Bissel Gardens serves the community in many ways — bringing people together, beautifying the neighborhood, creating safe outdoor space, offering community gardening, growing food for donation, and providing environmental and educational programs.

Bissel Gardens is two acres of gardens and a four-block public path extending from Barnes to Baychester Avenue, located in the Wakefield section of the Bronx. Join them as they honor their Founder Marie Teresa Scalera with the Grand Opening of their Children’s Garden.
